Twitter List Re-arrange!

Just a head’s up: We’re hard at work re-arranging some of the lists over on Twitter to make them more useful. We’ll update this page again when we’ve got them all done.

April Meetup!

So – we’re a little late posting the details for this month, but we DO have a date and time for the April meetup!

We’ll be getting together on April 27th (That’s THIS Tuesday) at the Coffeeco location at the Kingston Centre from 7:00pm – 10:00pm.

Our meetups happen roughly monthly and are always friendly, with lots of conversation about what’s happening in new media, especially on the local level. Enthusiasts, hobbyists, students and professionals all regularly attend, so no matter what level you are, you’re likely to be able to connect with someone.

The event is, as always, completely free – but we do ask that you RSVP so  that we can have an idea of how many to expect. See you there!

March Meetup Madness, Tuesday, March 30

Our next meetup will be Tuesday, March 30 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., at Coffeeco at Kingston Centre (1046 Princess Street).

If you’re in or around Kingston, come chat about social media with other enthusiasts–hobbyists, students and professionals alike–from the area.

These meetups are always friendly, with lots of conversation about what’s happening in new media, especially on the local level.

Sometimes, discussions are kicked off by special guests or regular attendees talking about specific projects they’re working on, and getting feedback from the group. With all of the talent, knowledge and variety of perspectives in the room, these Q and A sessions always offer a lot of insight to the presenters and the audience.

The event is absolutely free, although we do ask that you RSVP here. Just follow the link and click on the “Register Tickets” button.

See you Tuesday!

Facebook Pages & Groups: What’s the Difference?

The folks at Facebook just posted a great breakdown of the differences between Pages and Groups, and speaking from experience, this is a question that definitely needed to be answered – especially for small & local businesses.

In a nutshell: Facebook Pages are the equivalent of a Facebook profile, except they’re catered specifically to businesses/organizations/public figures – basically any sort of business.

Groups, on the other hand, are more casual; they lack the advanced administrative control, usage analytics and advertising metrics that come packaged with Facebook Pages.
